In real time my eyes couldn’t see the tongue flicking as it takes less than one second!

Toadlets are emerging from the Old Cape Farm Road breeding pond today after the weekend rain.
Please check your pool, drainpipes, dog water bowls and driveways for toadlets!

Well done to our newest breeding pond in the heart of Noordhoek (Fransisca lane) for producing WLT tadpoles for the first time ever! Quite interesting as this is quite a shallow pond but this area is much cooler and there are lots of waterplants and plenty of shade!
Watch out for the November/December migration if you live in this area!

Clicking Stream frogs have completed their metamorphosis and have been leaving their ponds on mass in the Noordhoek Proper area. Please drive very slowly at night around this area for the next few nights especially with rain.
These sweet frogs breed in shallow ponds and have left their breeding pond in search of a home in your garden! What can you do for them?
Place a rock on the step of your pool as they can't climb up a toadsaver.

Well done to all residents and ToadNUTS for saving a 140 Western Leopard Toads from becoming roadkill this season! We had 33 fatalities which is half the amount recorded in 2008.
Silvermine Rd ponds had an early breeding season this year from 30th July to 10th August due to the early full moon on the 6th August.
