Please slow down for porcupine on Ou Kaapse Weg!

This poor animal was killed crossing Ou Kaapse Weg on Saturday morning..
Please can we appeal to the city of Cape Town to reduce the speed limit on Ou Kaapse Weg as it runs directly through a nature reserve and the roadkill of biodiversity, which is recorded is overwhelming!!

I agree but someone will have to get a petition going - it will certainly take more than a phone call.....At the moment the speed limit is 70 which is actually reasonable but very few people stick to that and the traffic department certainly dont sit up there waiting to catch the speedsters.

:( And yesterday my daughter risked her life rescuing a tortoise that had frozen in fear in the middle of the road on the white line. God knows how it survived but those little creatures are also at risk. They also get stuck in the drains on the side of the road. Have rescued quite a few from there. Sometimes they fall in and land on their backs and cant right themselves and somtimes they walk up and down just looking for a place to climb out..... just horrible. Dont know what to do about it other than just be vigilant but that road should have a 60km limit actually. Its a friggin reserve!!!!!
